PACO RABANNE – ULTRA VIOLET
Futuristic vials to enter into the 21st century
A drop of mercury, cambered and metallic, as extraterrestrial as its creator. This quicksilver idea, « like metallic liquid », is where centdegrés drew its inspiration in 1999 to create for Ultraviolet, the perfume of the new millennium by avant-garde fashion designer Paco Rabanne, a beautiful bottle crafted of glass and metal, round and futuristic, in which the century to come seems to be reflected. It can be held in the palm of the hand and it’s by pressing it like a fruit coming from another galaxy, thanks to a discreet silicone ring, that we can inhale its perfume. This peculiarity was necessary to contain illustrious perfumer Jacques Cavallier’s creation which is based on Japan’s delicate osmanthus.
Two years later, centdegrés imagines the men’s version, also made of metal, glass and silicone, that can be grabbed like a tool, in a virile and powerful gesture. Because conceiving a perfume is also creating a universe, a story, a music, a gesture…
Steel, glass and silicone were used to create a bottle as round as a bubble of mercury or a drop of steel in fusion. At the brink of the 21st century, we created an object in the perfect image of avant-garde designer Paco Rabanne: innovative, legendary, technical and polychromatic. A circular vial for the feminine fragrance and a trigger box for the masculine scent: two undisputed weapons of seduction that were a great success at their launch.
